The Secret to That High-Density Heat
To get those speeds, you need a ton of power packed into a tiny space. These halogen bulbs use a tungsten filament inside a quartz envelope. The magic is in the halogen gas—it keeps the filament from burning out, even when it’s running screaming hot. Since these are built for industrial kitchen grids, the heat hits the toppings and the crust the second they slide under the lamp. That’s how you shave minutes off your timing. It’s almost instant.
Getting Them Installed
Most bakery ovens use R7s or similar snap-in connectors. We made these to be simple drop-in replacements. You shouldn’t have to mess around with rewiring your oven housing or calling in a specialist. We use quartz glass because it lets the infrared radiation pass through without blocking it. But here is a pro tip:these lamps run hot. If your reflectors are dirty or pitted, you’re wasting energy. The Trade-off
Here’s the catch: shortwave IR is aggressive. It’s a powerhouse, but it isn’t “gentle.” You lose that forgiving window you get with a slow bake. If your belt speed is off or your sensors aren’t tuned to the wattage of the new bulbs, you’ll scorch your cheese before the crust is done. It’s a bit of a balancing act.
